Do I need an account?
No. The whole catalogue — every festival, congress, marathon, weekender and social — is browsable without signing in. You only need an account to RSVP, to keep your own list, and to get reminders.
An event has the wrong time, venue or link. How do I fix it?
Open the event and use the correction option on the detail screen. Say what is wrong and, if you have one, add the link that proves it. Corrections reach a person and the event is updated, not silently ignored.
My city or my night is not in the app.
Send it to us and it will be there. Email hello@bachatup.com with a link to the event or to the organizer’s page. If you run events yourself, the app has an organizer flow for submitting and managing your own listings.
Why do only some events show up under “Pure bachata”?
That switch hides nights that share the floor with salsa and kizomba, and keeps only the rooms that stay bachata. It is off by default, so turning it on will always show you fewer events, not more.
I am not getting reminders.
Three things to check, in this order: that you allowed notifications when iOS asked (you can turn it back on in the iOS Settings app, under Bachat’Up); that the reminder categories you want are on in Settings → Notifications inside the app; and that the night you expected a reminder for does not fall inside your quiet hours. Signing out deliberately stops notifications to that device.
Why does the app ask for my location?
Only when you tap Near me or sort by distance. It asks iOS for reduced accuracy, rounds what it gets to roughly a kilometre, uses it to answer that one query, and never stores it. Decline and everything else in the app still works.
How do I get a copy of my data, or delete my account?
Both live in Settings → Privacy inside the app. Export my data builds a ZIP of JSON files and sends you a private download link when it is ready. Delete account closes the account immediately and erases everything permanently after 30 days — signing back in before then cancels it. See the privacy policy for the detail.
I deleted my account by mistake.
Sign in again within 30 days and the deletion is cancelled. After 30 days it is gone and cannot be recovered.
Is it free?
Yes. There is nothing to buy in the app, no subscription and no ads.
Which devices does it run on?
iPhone, on iOS 16.4 or later. Android is planned but is not out yet.
Are concerts and shows in here?
No, on purpose. Bachat’Up lists places you can actually dance. If you would watch it from a seat, it is not in the catalogue.
